Princess is now "Her Majesty"

Princess turned 16 years old this month. A neighbor suggested we now call her "Her Majesty" in honor of her years and wisdom.

waiting for permission

Earl doesn't take a toy away from Princess.
He waits for permission. She has taught him
to be a good dog.

can you find me?

Princess loves the fourth of July, I mean loves it. The fireworks are her favorite thing on earth. She runs around barking and wagging her tail. If ever she hears a sound that is similar to the noise that a firework display makes, she will run to the window and look up into the sky. This all stems from Hank teaching her to chase bottle rockets down our street, that first Independence Day, we had her, in 1999!

Princess on her Island

Hank sent this to the house, from his cell phone. He took Princess for a day trip to the Diminishing Republic. Although Earl is everyone's favorite puppy, Princess is still our special girl. And every now-and-then Hank takes her with him, so she can get away from Earl.

Our First Birthday!

Ella and I are one year old.

In human years, that is about 10 to 15 years old. We do see the world like a kid. Always eager to try something new, and to meet a new friend. We are very curious and interested in what our family is doing. We love attention. And we eat like teenagers!

Waiting patiently for our birthday cupcakes. This is my first taste of "people food". I am usually content to clean up the kitchen floor, as mom cooks supper...

Birthday partying is tiring! We are ready for our morning nap....and another year....!

wash day

It is too cold outside to get our bath in the backyard, so we find a "dog washing station" at a local hardware store! After the bath we get a treat from the lady at the check out!

Ladies first

I am always eager to try something new..!

Inside the tub.

The dryer worried me.

No matter what the weather,
our friendly neighbor Julie
always has a treat for us when she walks her dogs.

...warmer days

It has been cold and rainy here the past few weeks, so we are thinking back on warmer October days.

chasing Princess by Clay Walking Eagle

The photos in this next series were taken by our friend Clay Walking Eagle. Just so happened that my camera got wet on the boat trip over to the island... Luckily Clay snapped away and we have a great series of photos from the day. It was the last trip we made over before the days got to chilly, and we got too busy with holiday preparations.

Playing in the leaves

I am now 9 months old and out weigh Princess by 30 pounds! Even though I tip the scale at 82 pounds, she still out weighs me in attitude...she is the "Princess".
